Ravel was eagerly munching away at a chicken sandwich, her hunger hiding the anxiety she felt as she stared at the open session of Chaos Messenger that was on her computer. The many notifications from the many servers she was in took a back seat as a private messaging conversation was open with Theo, the representative from Stuffies. There was one new message after the last one, which was the details of the last ad read Ravel had done.

Theo: Hey, just wanted to debrief after your last ad read and go over a few notes I had, nothing big I promise.

Theo ended with a smile emoji. Three dots were moving at the bottom of the chat window denoting she was still typing. Ravel was taking advantage of her ambiguous presence online at the moment to not respond immediately. She was waiting a bit impatiently for Theo to finish her second follow up message. Eventually she did, and with a light dinging tone the new message popped up under the previous one.

Theo: It went very well I think, but one thing I should bring up is that we were hoping you would actually open the package we sent you and show off one of the pull-ups. That’s on me for not clarifying that, but next time please try to remember.

“Shit!” Ravel cursed out loud. In retrospect this seemed obvious to her. Of course, Stuffies wouldn’t send her a package to show off the packaging, they wanted her to show off the product, but she was too busy thinking about how to dodge accusations of wearing them to put that together. Ravel was quick to respond and do the damage control she felt Theo was owed.

Bandsy: Oh gosh I am so sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking of course you would want me to show off the pull-up.

Ravel internally groaned as she came to a realization. She had unintentionally backed herself into a corner by being so concerned about coming across as a diaper streamer. Because she put such an emphasis on the sealed package this time, next time when the package wouldn’t be sealed that would be suspicious. Some might even think intentionally suspicious.

Theo: Sorry for putting you in this position. Now your chat is definitely going to think you’re wearing them in your free time. She ended with an emoji with a bead of sweat on it.

Theo read Ravel’s mind there. Ravel had to shake her head in disbelief.

Bandsy: Yeah, I was just thinking that.

Theo: Though if you think about it the sealed package didn’t really prove anything. I mean you could have gotten a separate package and gotten pull-ups out of that one leaving the promo one shut.

Theo: Maybe I’m a bit too conspiracy brained. XD

Ravel had to admit that Theo had a point. It made her whole attempt to try and prove she hadn’t worn them seem pointless. If someone in her chat wanted to, they could come up with a hundred different excuses that would put her in diapers. Theo’s explanation was just one in a potential sea of explanations.

Bandsy: I guess you’re right.

Ravel condensed her thinking down to a simple sentence.

Theo: Either way I don’t think this is going to help your goal of your chat not thinking you wear diapers, and I’m sorry for that. Though I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you that if you are going to be accused of it anyway, you might as well get the bonus for it.

Bandsy: Nope not this time XD

Theo: Shoot. Can’t blame a gal for trying.

Ravel had to stop for a second. Theo was being a bit informal, and it was only after that last interaction, when she had finally started playing along, that she noticed.

Bandsy: You seem to be pretty chatty tonight.

Ravel thought that statement would be vague enough that Theo wouldn't put together Ravel's actual concern, but Theo proved her wrong.

Theo: Apologies if I’m being too informal. I would like it if we could build up a friendly relationship, but stop me if I’m being too much.

Bandsy: You’re fine I just wasn’t expecting it is all.

Theo: back to some business though: I didn’t really have any other notes about the read. You did a good job. I think we’ll sponsor another one in three weeks, but I’d like to stay in contact until then.

Bandsy: Three weeks? I didn’t say something wrong, did I?

Theo: Oh no you didn’t do anything wrong. Stuffies is a big company, but we’re not made of money. We have to spread our sponsorships around, and we tend to focus on our more dedicated partners: diaper streamers that can advertise more of our products, and can give personal recommendations.

Ravel winced a little reading that message. She could read between the lines. Theo is giving money to streamers that use their diapers. If Ravel used the pull-ups she had been given, then she would likely be given this more frequent and preferential sponsorship as well. Theo was joking about it earlier, and that might be way she was being so vague about it now. Ravel decided to play Theo at her own game and address the issue head on.

Bandsy: You really are trying to get me to use a pull-up aren’t you?

Theo: No no. I was just joking before. Please don’t think I’m trying to force you into doing something you don’t want to.

Bandsy: I mean the writings kind of on the wall. I’d be getting more sponsors if I was a dedicated partner, right?

Theo: You’re not wrong, but I really don’t want to pressure you.

Theo: I feel kinda bad for joking about it now.

Bandsy: Don’t be. It’s ok, and I don’t have plans on trying diapers again any time soon pressure or not.

Theo: Ok.

Theo: Well, if you do decide to try them, of your own volition of course, let me know ^^.

Bandsy: Will do XD

Theo: I’ll be in touch. Talk to you soon Bandsy.

Ravel closed the private message session. She felt like she needed something like closing a phone to punctuate the end of the conversation, but private messaging services lacked this satisfying conversation ender, so closing the window would have to do. Despite Theo’s insistence otherwise, Ravel couldn’t help but feel pressured to try one of the pull-ups increasing. Would it really be that bad if she did? She wore them all the time in college when it was a fad. Maybe she was just blowing the whole thing out of proportion. Still, when she looked at the still closed packaged, and imagined opening it up and putting one on, she felt an odd feeling in her gut, like it was wrong.

Ravel wasn't sure why, but she suddenly felt compelled to open the package of pull-ups that had been the source of a lot of her worries lately. There was a nostalgic feeling that brought her back to her college days as she teared open the perforated part of the package and fished one of the tightly packed undergarments out of the package.

She stuck her hands into the pull-up and fluffed it out a little, a built in reflex she picked up in college. The pull-up was exactly what was advertised on the tin, discrete. It was thin and a nondescript, almost fashionable looking, dark grey color. The actual absorbent padding fanned out at both ends like actual diapers and unlike most other pull-ups that only had one strip of absorbent padding in the middle. It gave the pull up a distinct look, one that Ravel didn't hate. No doubt it added to the absorbency too.

Ravel remembered some of the pull-ups she wore in college and contrasted them with the thing she had in her hand in the present. The ones in college, she remembered, had a cute print on them. It was a cheaply put on cute print, nothing compared to the detailed designs that Stuffies had on their diapers and even their other pull-ups. She also remembered, after an unfortunate evening of experimentation, that those pull-ups weren’t exactly functional. After one ruined pair of jeans Ravel swore off ever attempting to actually use her pull-ups again, and never got up the courage to try diapers. Though looking at the pull up in her hand with its extra padding, she felt like this one would probably hold up more.

Suddenly an internal battle started waging with Ravel. Maybe she should try it. No one would know she did but her, she didn’t even need to tell Theo if she didn’t want to. It had been years since she had worn a pull-up, and those were cheap ones. This one was a much higher quality. Maybe that would give her a better experience. Maybe it would spark her interest again.

Ravel found herself starting to lower her sweat pants before she stopped, shaking her head. She chucked the pull-up in her trash and hid the package away again. She didn’t want to get caught up in all this over her curiosity. That's all it was, just a passing curiosity, probably brought about by how much emphasis she had been putting on these pull-ups lately. It wasn’t worth it, and clearly, she needed to take a break and clear her head. Thankfully she would have three weeks of streams without Stuffies looming over her, that would probably get her head on right before the next sponsored stream.

Theo sat back in her chair at her desk. The chat log of the conversation she just had with Bandsy had been sent to a company chat room. There were some dots at the bottom of the chat window as one of the analysts in the chat room was typing out a message.

S. Miles: I recommend slowing the pace a little, she seems to be a bit put off by your friendliness.

T. Henry: I concur with Miss Miles. We need to back off from her for a bit, I think this three week wait for the next ad read is just enough space.

B. Turner: Continue to present positive encouragement with the burner accounts in the meantime.

Theo read over the opinions of the experts and pondered over them. They were a group of behavioral analysts the company had used when they were recruiting their three other dedicated streamer partners, and they would likely stick around as Stuffies' plans continued to evolve.

T. Mallory: I did tell her that I wanted to stay in touch until the next read. Would she not think it weird if I didn't contact her at all.

B. Turner: You’re a busy woman, things come up. If she does question your absence, you have excuses.

S. Miles: Additionally, ignoring her puts more pressure on her. Right now, the key is making her feel unimportant and lesser for not being one of our dedicated sponsors.

T. Mallory: Understood, I will take your advice. What should I do if she reaches out?

T. Henry: Minimal interaction is best, be sure to end the conversation by saying your are going to talk to a dedicated partner. Make it an opportunity to other her more.

T. Mallory: Understood, thank you all for your time.

Theo turned her chair around as she thought to herself. She had to center herself often while she was working on this project. She had to recenter and rethink, or she’d go crazy thinking she was doing something horrible. What they were doing wasn’t good. They had deliberately manipulated two people who had no interest in it to become diaper streamers, and were currently working on a third. It was only a coincidence that Cereal was into ab/dl before Stuffies found her.

It wasn’t the worst thing though. Bunny and SmolSally both enjoyed their new streams and lifestyles. Bandsy likely would too, when she eventually became the BabyBandsy they would need her to be. Not to mention the extra revenue they were making as diaper streamers. Even though they were manipulated to be there, Stuffies wasn’t forcing them to stay. They could stop being diaper streamers at any point. Clearly, they all liked it, or tolerated it enough to take the sponsorship money to keep doing it. From talking to them though, Theo was confident that at least her first three diaper streamer did genuinely enjoy it. With all that in mind, plus her paycheck, Theo felt she could ignore the moral quandary of it all. As something of a mommy dom herself, Theo also appreciated the content she got to help make, in a way that a lot of the other people at the company probably didn’t. Though it was hard to tell considering the kind of company Stuffies was.

Theo’s attention was drawn back to her monitor as a different tone emerged from her computer, one reserved for the diaper streamers, and sure enough a message from CryBabyCeral was waiting for her on Chaos.

Cereal: There any chance I can get this Bandsy girl I did the endorsement for on stream. I feel like perspective from a vanilla would be interesting for the podcast.

Theo smiled a bit. CryBabyCereal was right, that would make good content. Unfortunately, it didn’t gel with the advisor’s strategy of avoidance.

Theo: Not any time soon I’m afraid :(. She’s trying to fight off assumptions from chat about wearing diapers, so she probably wouldn’t want to come on.

Theo didn’t lie in that statement, but it definitely wasn’t the whole truth.

Cereal: wow a streamer who wears diapers on the weekends for fun, can’t imagine XD. I get it though. People can be rough about that. Get’s easier when you just own it though. Maybe you should tell her that.

Theo: Next time I talk to her I’ll try and remember to mention that. Are you enjoying the extra locksble diaper cover we sent btw?

Cereal: omg yes lol XD. Daddy is just as crazy about them too. Expect a glowing review.

Theo: I’m looking forward to it, and to the comsic fans content that comes with it >:3c.

Cereal: You and everyone else.

Theo smiled as the conversation naturally came to an end. Being able to talk with all the diaper streamers she helped cultivate in this way helped keep her going. She couldn’t deny that her friendly teasing demeanor was more her dominant side coming out than it was her playing the manipulation game, but it was a perk of the position.
