Chapter 17

Cassidy was busying herself in the play pen of the nursery once again trying to stack blocks as high as possible. Even after she got done making the rune, there was still half the day left, and Cassidy didn’t really think about this while she was making it. She might have taken a little longer to finish if she did, and then she wouldn’t be stuck in the play pen with nothing to do. Cassidy sighed as her tower fell over, it seems 5 was the limit for just a straight tower. Maybe she should try a pyramid structure. She didn’t really get a chance too because Allyson and Brita entered the nursery as she was about to start.

“Hello sweetie,” Allyson sang coming over to the play pen.

“Is something up?” Cassidy questioned coming over to the edge of the pen.

“Just going home early,” Brita explained while Allyson opened the play pen for Cassidy.

“Oh really?”

“Yeah well wedding’s tomorrow, and I’ll give Clovis credit for one thing he doesn’t leave things to the last minute so everything’s basically done.” Brita said with confidence.

“Most people actually left already,” Allyson clipped on the leash to the chest harness Cassidy was still wearing. “Brit thought you might prefer if we left while there weren’t as many onlookers though.”

“Oh well thanks,” Cassidy said quietly as Allyson was making sure the harness was still on Cassidy properly. “I mean if no one’s here though can’t I just walk out without the leash?” Cassidy asked as Allyson started to walk her with the lead.

“Better to not take any chances,” Allyson offered as an explanation. She looked to Brita to back her up but found that Brita wasn't willing to. Thankfully Cassidy didn’t seem to need further convincing.

“Oh well ok I guess. Works for me.” The thing that was bothering Cassidy was everyone seeing her being lead around on a leash, and more specifically the people seeing her being led around on a leash that knew she wasn’t actually a toddler. With no one else around she didn’t really mind it. In fact if she imagined Callie holding the leash instead of Allyson, she might even enjoy it.

To the credit of Clovis the place did look nice and positive, or as positive as a church made out of dark volcanic stone could look. Dainty white ribbon hung over the main door and the door to the chapel are, and the chapel area itself looked nice as well with the same ribbon decorating the walls and nice floral arrangements at the end of all of the pews. A completely different arch was at the center decorated with a beautiful floral display.

“Wow it does look good,” Cassidy found herself being tugged back by Allyson.

“Come now don’t get distracted. Midnight and Rosebud are waiting to take us home.” Cassidy caught up to Brita and Allyson to stop from being tugged around.

“Just trying to look at everything,” Cassidy pouted.

“You’ll have a chance to tomorrow I’m sure,” Brita replied quickly. “Well Clovis might keep you locked in the nursery until you’re ready.”

“What?” Cassidy huffed. “Well Callie said she’d be back by then. She’ll stand up for me.”

“Oh like you don’t like it in there,” Brita smirked back.

“That’s not the point,” Cassidy shot back. Allyson giggled at the exchange.

The group approached the waiting cuccobos and Allyson hoisted Cassidy onto Midnight as Brita hopped onto Rosebud. Cassidy noted the squish of her diaper as she sat down.

“We’ll change you when we get home dear,” Allyson said noticing the expression with her ever astute eyes.

“Yeah yeah,” Cassidy resigned herself to the outcome.

“Let’s hurry home love birds, we have a bachelorette party to get ready for.” Midnight and Rosebud chirped in unison and began a speedy trot.

“A bachelorette party?” Cassidy was curious. “Sounds fun, doesn’t seem like Brita’s thing though.”

“It’s not,” Brita shouted with disdain from Rosebud’s back.

“We’re having to drag her out for it for sure,” Allyson confirmed. “But she could use the break,” she shouted loud enough for Brita to hear. Brita returned the comment with a rude gesture only to be promptly scolded by Midnight and Rosebud both causing Allyson and Cassidy to giggle. “We’re going to be meeting Bailey and the groomsmen for a little bit too to hand over the rune you worked on. I don’t know how but I guess they’re going to work that into their bachelor party.”

“I’m guessing I don’t get to come?” Cassidy sounded dismayed.

“Unfortunately not. Bridesmaids only flower girls not included. If it’s any consolation Jayna is very excited to be going.”

“Good for her.”

“This may not be that surprising to you, but it was very difficult to get the ok from Marta for her to go at all.”

“Never would have guessed,” Cassidy said sarcastically.

“It’s good we asked before tomorrow,” Allyson giggled. “Oh that means you’re going to be left all alone up there while we’re gone.”

“Allyson,” Cassidy said firmly. “I'm not an actual child remember. I’ll be fine without a baby sitter.”

“You’re right, you’re right. I’m sorry,” Allyson apologized.

“Eh it’s not totally your fault,” Cassidy admitted. “Maybe I have been playing it up a little.”

“Well …” Allyson paused a little thinking of what to say. “At least you haven’t been miserable the whole time then.” Cassidy giggled a little.

In a few moments the group arrived back at the Callgahorn house, Cassidy was once again led by her leash as they made their way to their room, but she didn’t really have time to complain about it before they were inside. Cassidy only pouted as Allyson finally unclipped the lead from her harness when they were safely inside. She moved to go start getting ready but she was stopped by Cassidy clearing her throat.

“Oh right sorry,” Allyson blushed. “Let’s get you changed real quick,” Allyson hurriedly got Cassidy to lay down in the living room and grabbed some supplied that were nearby. “Are you sure you’re going to be ok on your own?” Allyson was concerned. “What if you need a change?”

“I’ll be fine Allyson, I’m sure I can figure it out on my own,” Cassidy rolled her eyes and Allyson shot her a look. “I can do it myself. I just like it when you do it,” Cassidy said with a blush.

“Show me then,” Allyson challenged. Cassidy huffed and got to work doing her best to put the diaper on herself. It was harder than she thought it would be for sure, and she didn’t get it on quite as well as the expert Allyson did, but it was serviceable.

“Good enough for a night I guess,” Allyson said unimpressed.

“Thank you,” Cassidy said with a confident smirk.

“You should let me do it when you can though,” Allyson added with a giggle.

“Don’t you have to get ready?” Cassidy shot back. Allyson giggled but left. Cassidy sighed.

Cassidy was actually pretty excited to have a night by herself. She felt like lately she been spending a lot of time being looked after by Allyson, because she had. Even if she had grown to enjoy it in some way, being by herself and able to be adult would be a refreshing change of pace. The typical bar hopping bachelorette party wasn’t really her style anyway so she didn’t mind missing out on this particular adventure. As Brita and Allyson were getting ready to go out, Cassidy got herself ready for a night of lounging. She took off the childish outfit she had on and found a long night shirt and put that on instead. It still left peeks of her diaper, but she was used to that at this point, and it was at least a more mature piece of clothing.

Cassidy caught Allyson and Brita as they came down to the room. They were dressed in nice but slightly revealing from fitting dresses.

“You guys look cute,” Cassidy commented.

“Back at you,” Brita joked. Cassidy played along with the joke giving a little curtsey.

“You two have fun, I’ll probably be in bed when you get back.”

“Not too much fun,” Brita cautioned. “We do have to be up pretty early remember.” Allyson shook her head in disappointment.

“See you tomorrow Cas,” Allyson said giggling.

Marta watched from the first floor as Allyson and Brita emerged from their room and meet Jayna and the two other bridesmaids on the first floor. They only looked over to her for a second and she just gave a small wave with a smile. They quickly hopped onto a cuccobo cart and left to their fun, but Marta had an idea for some fun of her own.

Some might say she had already done enough to humiliate Cassidy, but Marta was nothing if not thorough. She had one final humiliation for the Miqo though. One she just couldn't resist, and if her timing was on point her surprise would be there soon.

Cassidy had just finished pouring herself some juice in a not sippy but regular cup for once. She was going to enjoy some time reading a book she had brought. As she was just getting relaxed Cassidy heard a knock on the hatch for the room. Cassidy looked up from her book confused. She wasn’t exactly dressed to answer the door, and she wasn’t expecting anyone to knock, but she was the only one there. Reluctantly she opened the hatch trying her best to not show her diaper off to whoever was knocking. On the other side was a young adult Biscotti in a relaxed shirt and skirt with a stuffed diaper bag over her shoulder.

“Hello?” Cassidy asked confused.

“Hi there,” the Biscotti said trying to look past Cassidy. “Where are your parents at sweetie, or whoever’s watching you?”

“What? No one’s watching me. What do you mean?”

“No one’s watching you?” The Biscotti said alarmed and forced her way into the room.

“Woah woah woah lady you can’t just barge in here like that,” Cassidy said alarmed trying her best to cover her diaper up.

“I can and I should especially if you’ve been left alone like this.”

“I haven’t been left alone,” Cassidy tried to argue but this Biscotti wasn’t taking her seriously.

“I got here on time,” The Biscotti said in a huff. “Even if I was late leaving you alone like this …”

“I told you I’m not left alone.”

“Don’t worry little one, Miss Rhonda is here. I’ll keep an eye on you til whoever’s watching you gets back, and then I'll give them a piece of my mind.”

“I don’t need someone to watch me,” Cassidy protested again.

“Oh such a big girl I’m sure. I know you think you’re big enough to be on your own, but someone thought to call you a baby sitter and it’s good they did.”

“What?” It only took a moment for Cassidy to realize who would have called a baby sitter for her. “Marta! Listen I don’t know what that bitch told you, but I’m not a child, and I don’t need you to watch me.”

“What language!” Rhonda said astonished. “I get that you’re upset that you aren’t as big as you think you are, but that’s no reason to use bad words. It’s a good thing I’m here. Miss Rhonda will set you straight bad little girl.”
