Ellie started slipping on her shoes, then paused as she noticed the bottle on the coffee table.

“Hey, Andrea?” she said, unsure.

Andrea looked back at her. “What's up?”

Ellie gestured to the bottle. “Should we ask her if she needs anything?”

Andrea frowned. “Why, what would she even need?”

“I don't know, but maybe she wants something from the store.”

Andrea sighed. “I still don't get your concern for her after all she's done.”

Ellie frowned back. “Regardless of what she has or hasn't done to me she's still a person…sort of, and we should offer some courtesy to her.”

Andrea opened the door and turned back to Ellie. “If you want to ask her then go ahead. I'll meet you out in the car.”

“Can you take the trash down?”

“I suppose.” Andrea grabbed the bag then walked out, shutting the door behind her, leaving Ellie alone. The girl sighed, walked over to the bottle, and removed the stopper. Lavender smoke flowed out and Sisu appeared with a flourish, wearing her usual attire.

“Greetings, Mistress Ellie!” she said boisterously. The genie looked around the room. “I do not see Mistress Andrea. Is all well?”

“Yeah, everything's fine,” Ellie replied. “We're just going to the store, I just thought I'd ask If we could get you anything.”

Sisu’s eyes glimmered and she gave Ellie an amused smile. “You wish to fulfill my desire?”

“Yeah, I don't know how long you've been in that bottle, and I thought maybe you'd want something. I don't know what kind of things you can get for yourself, but if there's anything we can grab let me know.”

Sisu looked away, thoughtful. After a second she said, “Fruit.”

Ellie waited for more, but Sisu just stared back, her eyes sparkling.

“Okaaayyyyy…” Ellie said slowly. “Any specific kind?”

“No, just fruit. It has been a very long while since I have had fresh fruit and I think I would quite like some.”

“Uh, okay. If you want, we already have oranges. They're on the counter.”

Sisu looked over at the kitchen, noticing the basket of oranges quickly. “I think that will suffice,” she said. “If you may, please get more. The type of fruit does not much matter to me.”

“Sure, got it,” Ellie said, walking over to the door and slipping on her shoes. “Will you be alright here by yourself?”

Sisu gave her the look she'd given at breakfast. “Yes, Mistress, I can take care of myself. If you will permit, may I stay out of my bottle while you are away? I would like to stretch my legs, so to speak.”

Ellie grabbed her jacket and pulled it on. “Yeah, fine by me. Just don't open the door for anyone but me or Andrea, alright?”

“As you wish.” Sisu’s legs fuzzed into existence and she alighted on the floor. “Take care, Mistress.”

Ellie gave a wave as she slipped out the door, pulling out her keys and locking it behind her. She walked down the hallway, past rows of doors leading to other apartments and past the elevator. She didn't like taking it, she liked to challenge herself to always take the stairs no matter how busy or full her hands were. It was always good exercise. She pushed through the door to the stairs and made her way down. It didn't take long to reach the bottom, her apartment was only on the fourth floor, and soon she bustled out into the open air. It was early autumn, the leaves just beginning to turn, and the air smelled crisp and fresh.

Andrea had thought ahead, it seemed, and had pulled up by the front door in her small SUV. Ellie walked over to the passenger side and hopped in. She had to climb a little more than she was used to, but she managed to get in and buckled without any issue.

“What did she say?” Andrea asked, pulling the car out and onto the street.

“She just asked for fruit,” Ellie said. “Didn't specify, just said whatever. When I left she was hovering towards the oranges.”

“Well at least she's easy to shop for,” Andrea said. “I started a list while waiting. I also thought we could shop for some clothes for you, and there's somewhere I think I want to go when we're done.”

“I already have plenty of clothes,” Ellie noted, “or did you forget my second wish?”

“No, I mean like girl clothes. You have plenty of jeans and T-shirts, boy things, or boy-ish, I suppose, but what about skirts, dresses, blouses, all that kind of stuff? I want to get you some cute things. Also, you need to get some bras, you can't just go around with your tits out all the time. Plus skirts and dresses will be easier to wear with your diapers.”

Ellie blushed, subconsciously putting one hand between her legs and the other across her chest. “I mean, I guess I'd like to get some stuff. But I don't know what to get, I've never really been clothes shopping before.”

“We can swing by a thrift store. God knows we have plenty here in town. I'm sure we can find you something nice. If it comes to it I'll pick for you and you can model them for me. I'll pay, too, my ‘congrats on coming out’ present to you.”

“Well, if you want to.” Ellie looked out the window, watching the town move by as Andrea drove. As she watched the buildings pass she remembered something Andrea had said. “Where else did you want to go? After groceries and clothes?”

“You'll see,” Andrea chuckled. Ellie turned and saw a sly grin on her face. “I want to keep it a secret, I promise it'll be fun.”

“Alright then, keep your secrets,” Ellie said, turning up the radio and looking back out the window. The two drove along for a moment, listening to what the radio proclaimed were the best hits of the '80s and more. After a few minutes humming along to the tunes a thought occurred to Ellie. She grabbed her wallet out of her jacket pocket and pulled out her driver's license, scanning the lines until she found what she was looking for.

“Elizabeth Jane Harper,” she said. “Sisu gave me the middle name Jane.”

“Not too bad as far as middle names go,” Andrea said, glancing over. “It’s cute."

“Yeah, but Jane. It's not a bad name, but it's so…plain. Plain Jane.”

“It could be worse, you could be stuck with Maymie like some people.” Andrea’s tone was sour. She’d always hated her middle name, named after her great grandmother. The woman had been sweet enough by all accounts, but Andrea despised the name.

Ellie looked at the ID again before putting it away. A few moments later Andrea pulled the car into the store parking lot and pulled into an open space near the front entrance. The two got out, stretched for a second, then made their way inside. Andrea snagged a cart on the way in while Ellie mentally braced herself. She’d never liked grocery shopping, it brought back memories of her mom rushing and fussing over prices, coupons, people, the kids. She'd always take what felt like a week to Ellie, just meticulously poring over every single item in the cart while the kids were largely ignored. Ellie also recalled once crying that she needed to go to the bathroom, only to be ignored by her mother, causing her to wet her pants in the aisle. Ellie's hand drifted to her crotch as she thought about it. That was one problem she'd never have again.

“Quick in and out, okay?” Ellie murmured to Andrea. The taller girl looked down at her with a smile.

“Quick as can be,” she replied, reaching down and taking Ellie’s hand. Ellie took a breath and the two made their way in.

True to her word, Andrea made sure that they were in and out in less than ten minutes. They easily made their way aisle to aisle, grabbing just what they needed on the list, plus Sisu’s fruit, deciding on grapes and more oranges for her. Ellie kept her hand on the cart the whole time while Andrea grabbed their items. She felt a bit like a child, hand on the cart, diaper between her legs, and Andrea shopping for them, but it made her feel calm and peaceful. Andrea was going to take care of everything. She felt a flicker of a memory cross her mind, Andrea towering over her and talking sweetly. A fragment of her dream the night before. She blushed as she remembered.

The two eventually found themselves in the incontinence supply section. Neither of them had ever been in this aisle before and neither of them knew exactly what they were looking for. Ellie looked around nervously while Andrea studied the packaging.

“I guess you probably want something super absorbent, right?” Andrea guessed, reading off of a package label. “They all look sort of the same to me.”

“Y-yeah, I think that's best,” Ellie muttered.

Andrea leaned forward to inspect one of the bags, then pulled it off the shelf. “This one seems most like you have now,” she noted. “But it doesn't really look like a diaper, more like a pull-up.”

“Sure, whatever works,” Ellie agreed without looking, desperate to get away from there. Andrea shrugged and placed the pack in the basket and trundled off, grabbing more changing supplies as they went. Before long the two were making their way through the register. Ellie kept telling herself that it was just her imagination, but she swore she felt the cashier eyeing her as they scanned the pack of diapers. Andrea paid up and the two took their groceries out and to the car.

Ellie climbed into the passenger seat while Andrea loaded the car. She gave a relieved sigh and relaxed into the seat. Andrea finished up, returned the cart to the corral, and took her own seat behind the wheel. She looked at Ellie with a comforting smile.

“You okay?” she asked. Ellie nodded, a little lost in her own world. Andrea watched her for a second, then reached over and squeezed Ellie’s crotch. Ellie jumped and swatted her hand away.

“Not in public!” Ellie protested.

“Sorry,” Andrea apologized, “I just wanted to check. We're in the car anyway, nobody can see us anyway.”

“It doesn't matter! I don't want to take the risk. Wait until we're home.”

“Alright, fine,” Andrea huffed. She started the car and the radio came on with a kzzt. She pulled the car out and onto the main road, heading to the nearest thrift store. The two sat in a terse silence, the only sound being the low music and the rumble of the car. After a moment Ellie spoke up.

“I'm sorry,” she apologized. “I know you're trying to help and you're still getting used to this. I shouldn't have snapped.”

“Nah, I sprung it on you without warning,” Andrea replied. “Again. You told me to ask and I didn't. That's on me.”

“Well, truth be told,” Ellie admitted, “I don't really mind that much, it just surprises me.”

“Oh. Then you're okay if I do?”

“I guess. Just ask first, please. Or maybe we can work out a code or something later so you can ask without being obvious.”

Andrea chuckled. “A code? Like some kind of secret agent, Double-Oh Diaper?”

Ellie gave a snort. “Yeah, kinda, I guess. Like something so you don't surprise me. That's really my main issue.”

“Well if you think of something let me know.”

“Yeah, okay.”

The silence between them returned for a moment, broken only by the crooning of a woman singing about another woman stealing her man. Andrea spoke up this time.

“We should probably start bringing a diaper bag along,” she said.

Ellie sighed. “Probably. I can't always wait until we get home. If it comes to it today I can change in the bathroom. We have all the stuff for it.”

“Yeah, lucky you,” Andrea teased. Ellie stayed silent, and Andrea gave a sigh and drove.

The girls arrived at the thrift store after a short drive, the biggest one in town and also the closest to the supermarket. Once inside Andrea started to make her way to the racks up on racks of clothing, but Ellie was immediately distracted by the shelves of books and old VHS tapes by the door.

“Ellie,” Andrea protested, “we’re here for clothes, remember?”

“Yeah, but I just can't resist,” Ellie said, smiling as she pulled a book off a shelf and scanning the blurb on the back. “You go on ahead, I’ll catch up.”

Andrea rolled her eyes. “Grab a cart when you do,” she said. She knew there wasn't any stopping Ellie until she had found something, Probably a Star Wars book or two, and more than a couple of the tapes. Andrea, however, had a mission, to find the cutest outfits for her girlfriend.

Ellie found her ten minutes later with an armful of clothes. Ellie was frankly impressed that she'd managed to carry all that by herself. Andrea dumped it all in the cart as she pulled up.

“Good timing,” the Andrea said. “I wasn't sure how much more I could hold.”

“Glad I came when I did, you looked ready to topple over.”

“Yeah, well I want to try a few different styles on you, see what fits your aesthetic. C’mon, you’re going to put on a fashion show for me.”

The two made their way to the back of the store to the changing rooms. The lady manning them showed them to a room large enough for the two of them. They each took a few things in and hung them up.

“Alright,” Andrea said, offering a few bras, “try these on first.”

Ellie pulled off her shirt and tried the garments one by one. She was happy to remember that part of her new girl knowledge meant she knew the most efficient method of putting on a bra, as well as how to take one off without taking her shirt off. She grinned a bit at that as she tried on the bras, slowly finding the ones that fit the best.

“Okay,” said Andrea after they'd narrowed it down to three that fit the best. “Looks like you're 32D, or at least somewhere in that ballpark. Good to know for the future.”

Ellie adjusted her boobs in the bra she felt was most comfortable. “Is that big? I thought D cups were supposed to be huge, mine don't feel that big.”

“Trust me,” Andrea said, “they're plenty big, you lucked out. You're almost as big as me, even. We might be able to share.”

Ellie tried to compare, but couldn't quite get a good idea in head of how big hers were. Judging by Andrea’s boobs she was happy with what she’s gotten.

“Alright,” Andrea continued, picking out a medium length skirt and a frilly top. “Now that you have a good bra it's time for outfits. Here, let's start with these first.”

For the next thirty minutes Ellie tried on shirt after dress after skirt after blouse, each one getting her and Andrea's opinions. Ellie found herself stunned a couple times as she looked at herself in the mirror. In these clothes she didn't see a trace of the boy she used to be, instead seeing a beautiful woman before her. This was who she was. She was wearing a cute blue top and a black skirt and without her even knowing why tears gathered in the corners of her eyes and she started shaking.

“Alright, I think these will go well with…” Andrea started, but trailed off as she saw Ellie. “Ellie, what's wrong?”

Ellie gave a sob, still looking at herself. “Andrea…” she choked. “It's me. It…it's really me.

Andrea paused, then walked up behind and wrapped her arms around the girl, looking at her in the mirror. “Yeah, it sure is,” she said. “That's you. My special girl, the prettiest girl in the whole world. That's you, Elizabeth Jane Harper.”

Ellie broke down into tears, burying her face in Andrea's chest. The taller woman held her, running her fingers through the new girl’s hair while she cried. The tears only lasted a short while before Ellie sniffled and stepped back. She went to wipe her tears in her sleeve, but Andrea stopped her.

“Not on the store’s clothes,” she said. One sec.”

Andrea ducked out of the changing room, leaving Ellie alone, regarding herself in the mirror. The initial shock had worn off and now she was just admiring herself. The boy she had been was gone, really truly gone. Not even his name existed for anyone except Andrea and Sisu. Andrea returned a short few seconds later with a box of tissues. Ellie took the box gratefully.

“Thanks, Andrea,” she said, blowing her nose. “Um, if it's okay I think I just want to head out. I have some good outfits now.”

“Yeah, yeah, of course,” Andrea said, starting to gather up clothes. Ellie pulled off what she was wearing and dressed herself in her old clothes as Andrea tidied up. They dropped off the rejected clothes and brought their still sizable haul to the front registers. True to her word Andrea paid for all of it, including Ellie's new books and cassettes.

“I still don't get why you buy those,” Andrea said as they walked out. “VHS has been dead for decades and it's a terrible format. Why do you buy them every time?”

“I think they're neat,” Ellie said. “It's mostly nostalgia, but I like the analogue-ness of them. Call me old-fashioned, but I'll always prefer physical media to this digital shit. Can't take away a physical copy of something.”

“Fair enough,” conceded Andrea. The two loaded up their swag and climbed into their respective seats. As they settled in Andrea reached over to give Ellie an awkward hug across the middle console.

“I love you, Ellie,” she said.

Ellie closed her eyes and leaned over to rest her head on Andrea's shoulder. “I love you, too.”

The two sat there for a moment before Andrea broke off and started the car. The two sat there, the moment hanging between them with nothing else needing to be said.
