So, in my opinion, the problem with most story forums out there is the fact that they try to do too much. There are discussions about all sorts of things that are at-best tangentially related to the stories themselves, and they tend to focus on a niche community.

The problem with in-story comments is that they make the story itself harder to read.

So my goal here with Discussion Posts is that they can be attached to a story, they maintain a relationship with that story, but without cluttering the story experience. I'm hoping that Discussion Posts provide a place where long-form discussions can take place, but without the place devolving into unrelated discussion.
